Initially my goal was to go 19 miles and see how the weather was holding up, if it was good push onto mile 27 for a campsite on the ridge, but any hiker knows if you are only a few miles from town food and a hot shower, your ass ain't staying in the woods. 

Today was probably one of the hardest days of hiking on this trip, my legs are tired, my feet are beat up, I got a blister since day 3 that's still here and it lets me know every step. The trail today was very rocky and a lot of elevation. I didn't see any new hikers, one fella clearing the trail for a MTB TT next Saturday and a few dog walkers. Todays mileage and time came very slowly even though I was averaging a 3 mile an hour pace. I had food and a hot shower on my mind and when that happens out here you can't get to town fast enough. 

I'm taking a zero day tomorrow to let this feet and legs rest and a calorie reset. 3 more hiking days and I'll be done with the Pinhoti and onwards to Springer. 

*I accidentally got off trail twice which added about a mile to my overall mileage today, nothing like having to back track on an already long day.
