Consider my opinion of Texas changed. Found a bike shop in Texas that closed last year which was still liquidating everything at 50% off. I’ve wanted full suspension forever, so I decided it was time to treat myself a little. Anyway picked it up, went to another bike shop, bought some pedals, lubed the chain, pumped the tires and I was good to go. While I was there some guy came in to buy a helmet.

Turns out some of the best mountain biking in Texas is at Cameron park in Waco and two other spots just outside Austin. Anyway you already know I went straight to Cameron park for a rip. I start on a green and it’s too easy. Then I found a blue named Vortex, which was easily Fozzie and Sean level of send. It whipped you up and down these giant mounds, which were angled like burms kinda, zig zagging over this creek. I could send the top and the bottom but the middle is so big I had to take the bitch line and ride the creek. Then I come down to an intersection and choose to ride up left. Two people come flying down the right so fast and I realize if I ride up a downhill trail by mistake I’ll die. So I go to ask them what trail etiquette at the park is and it’s none other than helmet guy and his friend. They invited my riding with them, and told me they’ve got a group of 10 they ride with. At night they ride urban at baylor university’s campus. Anyway the two of them sent it pretty hard and were giving me tips on how to jump, hit drops, etc. The top trails are full of small jumps and large burms, perfect for finding your footing and figuring this out. Finally we send vortex and for the third day in a row, Will pops his front tire. It was on the same rock after you do the second biggest drop in.

The park itself had tons of trails and in some places you felt like you were in a rainforest. Apparently the whole place was once private land, owned by a man with the mamen of Cameron who donated it to be a park. Dope af I’ll be back

After this I went to bravos river landing and tried fried gator strips for the first time. Gator tastes like chicken but… sweeter? Really expected it to have a funny taste but it’s good
