Shoutout to my Schwalbe Marathon plus tour tires for still going strong after carrying me and my 100lb bike 4,000 all the way across country and then doing 1,000 miles of commutes (manhattan and rogers) and still having plenty more miles in their tank. Truly astonishing. I’ve heard that eventually a blue strip will appear when you’re getting close to wearing them out. I have yet to see any blue on these tires after 5,000 miles carrying a lot of weight. Not to mention they only had one puncture that whole time and it was due to a nail.
I’m currently getting ready for the next tour and will be swapping these tires out for some fresh rubber but will look forward to putting them back on for some more KS commutes. Maybe I’ll find the blue line 🤔
