If you find yourself on top of Peak 1,798 (as I did), you are likely floundering at the bottom of the barrel of Bay Area P300s (as I am). That said, in  context of the  bottom of this very specific barrel, Peak 1,798 is practically a 5 ⭐️ classic.

Sure, the summit views are obstructed, but you can see something (Loma Prieta). Yes, there is PO, but it is easy to avoid. There is some private property & one new looking fence, but they nicely finished the fence without bards on the top rung. Most of the hike is on well maintained trails in a lovely CA ranchland style park. I’m likely to return for a collection of silly 🔴 s (without meaningful prominence.)
