Beautifully tough, indeed. Woke with terrible foot pain and carried it into the race for 3 miles. I wasn't even sure I could start and finishing seemed impossible. At mile 3, the forest healed my foot. Gorgeous trails, beautiful weather, and wonderful organization. The last climb was brutal, but it was a nice final 3 mile descent. Best part was seeing my special person at the finish line.
