what a season to feel beautiful without a reason...

it takes some life to find the light within...

well, it was a solid streak, better than any aging athlete could ask for, as - although I've certainly trained through plenty of nuisance injuries - I truly can't remember the last time the pendulum swung toward a full shut down from running, but that appears to be the case.

had to terminate run abruptly this morning and first PT session afterwards confirmed what I felt: pronounced hamstring tendinopathy stemming from the leg attempting to protect itself via reduced range of motion as a likely direct result of low back spasm-triggered sciatica, and of course, my attempting to train and race through it. fortunately, it no longer appears that any type of neuropathy is directly involved.

oh, and I have super weak glutes that don't like to fire in proper muscular sequence (but you knew that because I'm a lifelong runner 🙃)

can one throw as much heart into PT exercises as what we love to do? 30 years ago I'd have said "nope" but the longview looks a lot different at 50. time to find out how serious I am about being in the running game for the long haul...
