Minor bummer of a weekend with Ava Becker-Church . Got up near Broken Hand Pass and found that the mountain was pretty lacking in snow. What was there was about as bad as it gets- sun baked crust on top and every other step punching through to near waist deep. Too steep and firm on top to skin well and already late enough in the day where wet slides would have been a big issue in the big line. Decided to call it there and hung by the lakes while Ava ran up Humboldt and back. Went to leave the next day and the car battery was dead and had to run 12+ miles, hitchhike multiple times, and then lug a 50 pound battery back up the 4wd road to the car and then learn how to change a car battery in the rain. Good stuff
