Quick run with the boys

after five zeros, finally feel good enough to go back out for some more miles with Punisher. We had a slow morning waiting for our ride but it was nice allowed me to do some PT make 3 pounds of bacon nine breakfast burritos and pack everything up around 11 we got picked up and headed up to lake. The climb began quite gradual with nice dry trail for the first couple miles. It was quite busy with day hikers, but once we got past 45 miles in close to aloha lake, there wasn’t many other people up there. Mile or so before aloha Lake the snow came stuck around for way too long. Sections of trail that weren’t covered in snow. We’re soaked thoroughly in snow melt resulting in the trail becoming a stream. Feet were wet all day long was a nice welcome back to trail. Oh yeah, took my first serious fall. Stepped on a loose rock that gave away and threw me forward putting on my weight onto my knee which landed on a rock, excruciatingly painful but after 1520 minutes resting taking some ibuprofen and a couple safety meetings felt better so I kept pushing on. Desolation wilderness is amazing but we were both talking about how neither of us have ever been over Dick‘s ass without there being 10+ feet of snow out there must be nice out here in August lol. All in all another lovely day on trail
