Finally got a free, dry(ish) weekend for a backpack! In via Elephant’s Head for some cool views of the notch before a beach lunch at Sterling Pond and then continued the LT along the ridge. Met an old timer in the summit shack on Madonna who chimed in when I said the bugs were eating me alive - “At least you know someone wants you.” 😂 Dropped packs at the Whiteface shelter and chatted with a young NOBO hiker for a bit before going to tag the summit. Luckily everyone had cleared out by the time we got back and we had the camp to ourselves, complete with an A+ water source / beer chilling stream. Loaded ramen and some big life conversations before bed. Very grateful for this time, these mountains, and this adventure partner 💚
