Heaping stack of flapjacks in a fairytale dreamland to start the morning. Caught a canoe across the Kennebec. Called the local Caratunk bed and breakfast to come scoop us so we could resupply and charge up. The Sterling Inn does it right. Free showers and laundry for hikers even if you’re not staying there. Loaner clothes, soap and shampoo provided. What other community does that for its people? Only the best in the world. Had a pizza there and 2 pints of ice cream. Giffords > Ben and Jerry’s cause we’re in Maine kehd. And an obligatory moxie, cause well.. Maine. Got a ride back to the trailhead and hiked the afternoon away with Juicy fruit. Camping in another all-time spot. I never want this to end
