Decided at around 30 miles to go the longer route (skipped Old Stage so I missed the full 100 miler).  Latched on to two guardian angels soon after the split and was able to draft off them for the rest of the ride.  Big thanks to them.  Also, very stupid to do a 100 mile road ride on a non-carbon gravel bike!!!
