The home stretch!

We left Sarria early this morning excited for our last couple days walking into Santiago. Sarria is a common starting point for a lot of pilgrims who want a shorter pilgrimage so we were expecting to see increased numbers of people on the walk today. There definitely were plenty of new pilgrims around and it was a pretty obvious that the trail now accommodated more people with lots of very touristy shops in towns.

It was a stunning day of walking today, one of my favourite on trail. Very green, great views and lots of farm life to make friends with! We cruised about 30kms today, shorter than most days recently, because tomorrow we are planning a big push! The goal will be about 50kms to take us within 1 day of Santiago. We want to test our fitness and get through this busy section a little quicker. Wish us luck!
