Lateish start, big trees (new biggest - 10 ft diameter!). Hundred of blowdowns over the day, some 6+ ft trees. Climb to ridge, great views. Pass Michelle and Amber, they’re buds. Start first descent. Meet French lady (apparently insanely fast nobo?!), trade trail mix for cheesy rice, coffee, and intel. Start descent to infamous Milk Creek, very overgrown and crumbly soil for 3ish miles. Ascend to next ridge, crazy views, alpine lake (occupied, didn’t dip), over cloudy pass. See first 3 marmots, they’re big!! Spicy ramen dinner very good (lighter dried out, works)! Quick descent to make camp in light. Sketchy log crossing over glacial river. Brian and Foggy are buds both at camp!
