Cold Opener

Cooled down, thankfully. First 5 easy walking through burnt forest in the clouds. Next 20ish on off/on lava rocks. First big lava flow field, very chunky rock. Vegetated, then barren excepted for a few lone pines and huckleberry bushes(!). Lunch at lake, watching birds, impressed dayhikers, swim. 
Three Sisters approach, climb, snow, lava spires, switchbacks, obsidian everywhere. South sister cool, red rock. Traverse long open field. Enter forest, mozzies swarm, tolerable with head net and pants. Camp at lake, very sore (feet and left shin esp). A couple nobos come in 9:30 and yak till 11. Bed
