Texas winter part 2?

Then I ate a second for anyone who can’t do the same tonight.

Uphills so brutal I think they were downhills so I took the bike for a hike today. Downhills so butt clenching brutal doesn’t cover it. I remember one specific downhill that was in gentle but absolutely coveted in loose rocks big and small and had a turn right in front of a cliff before going along it. On I went, winding up and down the foothills of the prehistoric trackways until I hit the 4 wheeler road again. Anyway I followed that dirt road for a bit, sat and looked at the stars a while, then went on my way. 

Stopped at one point for a minute or two and there was something over there. I think it was watching me. Definitely an animal this time, or at least on all fours. How come I heard it in one spot and then later 70 ft behind me? I would’ve heard the rocks in between. Didn’t explain that well at all don’t feel like fixing it so good luck picturing that. For those of you who remember my Baylor canyon cryptid spook story, this is the same place different canyon. Maybe those prehistoric trackways aren’t so prehistoric after all 0_0

I took a different 4 wheeler road on the way back, and it had some intense downhills. At least they’re intense at night when you can’t tell how big the drops are until you’re at them. One section I think was 20% grade. I hit a few drifts but not on purpose, made it down fine, then at the bottom of the last downhill I had a good wipeout on the flat. It was epic. Luckily it was the only place in the national monument that was sand instead of rocks

Oh yeah when I got to the parking lot there were a couple campers, a few van campers, and a school bus camper. The campees were sitting in a ring chatting and probably sharing road stories. Noticed a couple campers at the trailhead last night too. That would be cool, just pulling off someplace and sharing a meal with likeminded people you’ll never see again

P. S. The pics tonight came out even better thanks to my secret technique. That funny dotted line is a plane with a blinking light
