Had another kick rock and scream bloody murder incident this afternoon. Moaning and weeping as if I watched my dog get hit by a car. I hadn’t seen one thru hiker all day and who happens to be a quarter mile ahead of me? Insert Wonka. A young buck comes hoofing it southbound toward me and appears to be in disbelief that I’m the one making these wretched sounds.. and for a stubbed toe? I could tell he was wondering where I hid the body. Rightfully so. He told me he thought someone fell down a ravine. Wonka kept more than an arms length at first, but he eventually warmed up to me and we shared a couple chatty miles together.

My toes are not in a good place. I can hardly walk and tomorrow’s daily grindstone has me anxious and nervous. I look like I need a cane and walker going down any sort of descent. When my toes touch my shoes, I’m in a world of hurt. Swollen and discolored.. i was told that love hurts
